Australian Cricket Awards 2024: Full List of Award Winners, Stats, and Records - Check Details
Mitchell Marsh won the prestigious Allan Border Medal while Ashleigh Gardner won the Belinda Clark Award.
The Australian Cricket Awards 2024 were successfully held on Wednesday, January 31 at Melbourne's Crown Casino as several big names of Australian cricket were recognised for their stupendous performances in 2023 in the glittering ceremony. All-rounder Mitchell Marsh reigned supreme in the ceremony as he was bestowed with the prestigious Allan Border medal with 233 votes ahead of captain Pat Cummins who had 79 votes to his name.
Furthermore, Marsh also won the ODI Player of the Year award being the second-highest run-scorer for his nation in the format in 2023 with 858 runs to his name from 20 innings at an average of 47.66 with two hundreds and five fifties. The seam all-rounder also scalped two wickets in the year.
Apart from Marsh, off-spinner was awarded Shane Warne Test Player of the Year being the leading wicket-taker of his side in 2023 with 59 scalps to his name from 23 innings at an average of 24.50 and an economy of 2.89.
Meanwhile, left-arm seamer Jason Behrendorff won the Men’s T20I Player of the year award being the third-highest wicket-taker in the format in 2023 with eight wickets from five innings at an average of 16.50 and a brilliant economy of 6.50.
In the women’s category, all-rounder Ashleigh Gardner won the most coveted Belinda Clark award with 147 votes to her name leaving behind Ellyse Perry (134 votes) and Annabel Sutherland (106 votes). Notably, Gardner was the leading wicket-taker for Australia women across formats with 56 scalps at an average of 19.39 from 30 matches.

On the other hand, having missed out on the Belinda Clark medal, Perry took home both the Women’s T20I and ODI Player of the Year award. The Player of the Tournament for the Big Bash League 2023-24 was also adjudged during the ceremony which went to Adelaide Striker’s Matthew Short. The 28-year-old was the leading run-scorer of the tournament with 541 runs to his name at an average of 60.11 with six fifties to his name.
