‘Calm before the storm‘ - Shaheen Afridi's warning to batters ahead of return to cricketing action
Shaheen Afridi is part of the T20 World Cup squad for Pakistan.
Pakistan speedster Shaheen Afridi did not participate in the Asia Cup 2022 due to injury but is set to be back on the cricketing field soon. The left-arm quick was named in the Pakistan's T20 World Cup Squad to travel to Australia and has also been picked for the New Zealand Tri-Series. However, he was not a part of the playing in the first T20I against Bangladesh, which Pakistan won comfortably by 21 runs.
The 22-year-old is deemed one of the best in the business at the moment and his numbers are outstanding across the three formats. Shaheen has managed to trouble most batters with his inswing and pace and no wonder, his absence proved to be a major hole in the bowling lineup for Pakistan in the Asia Cup 2022.
Ahead of his return, Shaheen posted an image on Twitter of himself and captioned "Calm before the storm,” to issue a warning to the batters. He also added an emoticon of the bat in the caption to launch subtle signs to the opponents of his extraordinary skillset. With 47 wickets in 38 T20Is at an economy rate of 7.76, Shaheen has been an asset in the bowling group for Pakistan since his debut.
