The Indian Premier League 2024 fever is at an all-time high. Teams are leaving no stone unturned to claim the coveted trophy. Chennai Super Kings, who boast wide fanfare across the nation are one of the major franchises who pull crowds to stadiums. Compared to last season, the ticket prices for this season have also hiked. CSK took on Lucknow Super Giants at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on April 23. As CSK were playing their home game after a gap of two away games, a surplus crowd was expected. As per the orders of Chennai Police Commissioner Sandeep Rai Rathore, the cops indulged in rigorous surveillance and monitoring to arrest those selling tickets on the black market, around the stadium, and in neighbouring areas.

Talking about the game, CSK succumbed to LSG in the final over of the game. Put in to bat first, Chennai posted a challenging target of 211 runs on the back of Ruturaj Gaikwad’s century. Chasing the target, Lucknow dealt an early blow losing Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul within powerplay. But Marcus Stoinis single-handedly pulled off a heist. He scored an unbeaten 124 in just 63 deliveries and won the game for his side. This was the highest-ever target chased at the revered Chepauk, the fortress of Men in Yellow.
