Cricket is known as the game of glorious uncertainities as nothing can be predicted right till the very end. Over the last few decades, the sport has witnessed many teams coming out of hopeless situations to checkmate their oppositions.

Lately one such instance took place where a team was skittled out for just three runs to their name while chasing 175 during a third-grade cricket match in Australia. The entire team unfolding for hardly anything on the board is what has stood out the most in this contest.

A bizarre record set during a third-grade match in Australia

The infamous batting collapse was witnessed during a Bunbury & Districts Cricket Association 3rd Grade Round 5 match between Donnybrook and Dalyellup.

In this contest, Donnybrook were all out for 174 from 39.3 overs. Dion Parker was the lone half-centurion of the innings as well as the match scoring 52 runs off 63 deliveries. Other contributions came from Mark Della Sale (30), Mark Manea (22), and, David Fishlock who scored a run-a-ball 15.

As far as Dalyellup’s bowling performances are concerned, Cameron Payne was the pick of the bowlers as he registered a six-wicket haul to finish with figures of 6/36 from his nine overs. Daniel Armstrong took  2/16 from his 4.3 overs while the likes of Mitch James, and, Michael Caddy both chipped in with a wicket each.

What should have ideally been a manageable total for Dalyellup turned out to be an absolute nightmare as none of their batters could even get a start in the first place. Surprisingly, only Jonathan Flower, and, Michael Caddy were the joint top-scorers with one run each against their names.

The batters showcased ordinary performances as all of them got out playing ridiculous shots. It took only 7.4 overs for the Donnybrook bowlers to wrap up the opposition’s innings for just three runs and thereby, complete a comprehensive 171-run victory.

There were two bowlers from Donnybrook who registered a fifer each- Suren Numberdar (5/1) and Dion Parker (5/2) respectively.
