We have forgotten about Bangladesh ODIs: Gautam Gambhir
Speaking on a mid-match show during the 2nd ODI on 12th January alongside co-expert panelist and former cricketer Sanjay Manjrekar on Star Sports, the 41-year-old didn't mince his words during a discussion arousing on Virat Kohli's recent outings.
"We should not forget that India had lost its last ODI series against Bangladesh. We have forgotten about it. Yes, individual brilliance is important, individual hundreds are important, it looks very nice when it comes to your record that you got your 50 hundreds or 100 hundreds, but you should never forget what has happened in Bangladesh. Because that is got to be a huge learning".
“India's full strength losing to Bangladesh in Bangladesh, I think we should grow from there rather than focussing only on this series. What has happened in the past should not be forgotten,” the former opener further said.
In the second ODI against Sri Lanka on 12th January, Kohli succumbed on a paltry 4 runs as Lahiru Kumara dismissed him After the first ODI against Sri Lanka, Kohli had also opened up on his struggles before the Asia Cup 2022. But, the 34-year-old scored his 71st international ton during the tournament, against Bangladesh, and has since gone on to score a couple of more hundreds in ODI cricket.
