Former England captain Michael Vaughan has been critical of the ICC, calling them out for favouring India in the ongoing T20 World Cup. He accused the broadcasters of favouring India and mentioned that ICC is fulfilling all the demands of India, which other teams do not receive. He stated that the tournament is set up for India and asked the ICC to be more fair.

Former India captain Sourav Ganguly was in no mood to listen to Vaughan and replied that he fails to understand how ICC is helping the Indian team when all the other teams are aware of the timings and conditions. He added that both teams play on the same surface and the better team would win and ICC has no role to play in it.

“Michael Vaughan is a very dear friend of mine. I don't know how ICC helps India win cricket matches by keeping the broadcast at 8 pm IST in the evening. I don't know how broadcasting wins you cricket matches. You still have to play in the middle and win. Secondly, I don't know why Guyana is thought to be a venue for winning when they have gone around and won everywhere." Ganguly was quoted as saying by NDTV.

Hope India have a little bit of luck in final: Sourav Ganguly

Ganguly lauded the Indian team for their commendable performance so far in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The Rohit Sharma-led side is undefeated in the tournament and will challenge South Africa, the other undefeated team, on the night of the finals in Barbados. Be it batting, bowling or fielding, the Men in Blue have ticked all the boxes but the nerves are still there.

India were confident of winning the ODI World Cup final last November but fell short on the D-Day. Ganguly hopes something similar doesn’t happen once again. He acknowledged the Indian side as the best but stated that luck needs to go their way to win the coveted trophy for the second time in history. He added that luck is needed to win any tournament and it’s the same for team India, who have played well but have no ICC trophy in the past decade.

“They have been the best side of the competition. I wish them luck, I wish they win. Hope they have a little bit of luck tomorrow (today) because that is required to win big tournaments," Ganguly was quoted as saying by the Daily Star.
