The Test and ODI skipper of Australia, Pat Cummins has revealed a funny incident involving former Australia prime minister Scott Morrison. The 29-year-old said that Morrison had added him to a WhatsApp group named ‘Legends’ and he already was a part of another WhatsApp group with a similar name that featured his national teammates.

The ace pacer disclosed that he once accidentally sent a message to Morrison because of the confusion. He later deleted the text immediately and also apologised to the then prime minister for the same.

“I just opened up my phone then, and I’ve been added to a WhatsApp group called ‘Legends’ with Scott Morrison and Justin Langer in it. We [already] have a WhatsApp group, Hoff (Josh Hazlewood), Starcy (Mitchell Starc) and I called legends. Hope I don’t send anything to the wrong group,” Cummins revealed in the first episode of the second series of the Amazon Prime documentary, The Test.

“I think it was a stat or a photo or a meme or something that came up and I sent it to the wrong group and I quickly had to delete it. Sorry PM,” Cummins told the Sydney Morning Herald when he was asked if indeed he sent anything by mistake.

Australia continue to dominate under Cummins

Under the able leadership of Cummins, Australia have emerged as one of the most dominating sides in the longest format of the game. They first white-washed West Indies in a two-match Test series in their backyard in November-December 2022 at the beginning of the Australian summer and also defeated South Africa 2-0 and with that, they have strengthened their position at the top of the World Test Championship Points Table.

Next, the team is scheduled to travel to India in the month of February for the much-awaited Border Gavaskar Trophy. As per initial reports, ace pacer Mitchell Starc might miss the first Test of the series while India pacer Jasprit Bumrah might miss the majority of the series too. Rishabh Pant, who recently had a major car accident is expected to miss the entire Test series.
