Former cricketer-turned commentator Irfan Pathan feels that if Prasidh Krishna stays fit and consistent, he will be a key player for India. Krishna’s stocks have been on the rise since his amazing IPL debut and even more impressive showing for India.
Krishna's ability to bowl fast makes him an interesting bowling option for any team. There are very few players in the Indian domestic circuit who can bowl above 145 kmph consistently, and he has the knack of bowling fast deliveries on a good line and length which can terrorize the batsman and stop the flow of runs. He has shown different variations also to his game in recent times, which can be helpful for the team.
The 26-year-old has the ability to bowl death overs which is a skill only a few have mastered in India. Even with the new ball, he has shown that he can swing the ball in and out which might trouble the batter a lot.
Prasidh Krishna brings such tremendous ability: Irfan Pathan
"Prasidh Krishna brings such tremendous ability, one is his pace, we have seen in One-Day cricket, how great bounce he derives out of the pitch. He bowls from near the stumps and swings the ball. He is quality and we have seen him in the IPL last year, touching 148 kmph. If this guy stays fit consistently and bowls for you in white ball cricket, you'll get a solid wicket taker," said Pathan while speaking to Star Sports.
The right-arm bowler has 25 wickets at an economy rate of 5.32 while representing his country in 14 ODI games so far. In August 2022, against the hosts Zimbabwe, he played his last game for the Men in Blue and has fallen since then, in the pecking order as a result of injuries.
