He is also the second Indian player to score 5000 runs and take 500 wickets at the international level. The 34-year-old achieved the remarkable feat in his 298th appearance for Team India.
The 1983 World Cup-winning captain Dev achieved this incredible feat during his international career. He has a record of scoring 9031 runs and has picked up 687 wickets in 356 international matches.
Jadeja is only the 11th cricketer overall to take 500 wickets and score 5000 runs in international cricket. Apart from Jadeja and Kapil, the elite list includes the likes of Wasim Akram, Jacques Kallis, Imran Khan, Shakib Al Hasan, Shahid Afridi, Daniel Vettori, Chaminda Vaas, Shaun Pollock, and Ian Botham.
