After 15 glorious seasons, the IPL 2023 will return on March 31 when defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT) will take on four-time title winners Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium. While excitement around the upcoming season is at par with any of the previous seasons, this year's IPL has already been hit with some untoward news as many crucial players are being reported to miss the first week of the tournament. While some of them will have a longer recess on account of injuries, others will join their respective franchises after fulfilling national duties.

Both Chennai and Gujarat will look to start their season on a high by claiming an early win. Gujarat are coming in with the cup on their aisle whereas Chennai would look to redeem themselves after the disastrous outing that they had last year.

The Narendra Modi stadium is also expected to witness a sea of fans who would be keen to watch Gujarat play their first home match in Ahmedabad. This is expected to only be the tip of the iceberg as the tournament throughout its entirety is likely to witness crowds swarming in to witness the 'fest' in its original avatar after a prolonged wait of four years. The fact that Lucknow's Ekana stadium and Guwahati's ACA stadium will be hosting their first-ever IPL matches only adds up to the excitement.

While fans would be looking forward to witnessing the extravaganza from close quarters, there would be fans who won't be as lucky to be able to do so, particularly the huge chunk of IPL viewers who would be gracing the event from abroad. While the Star Network would be broadcasting the tournament on TV back home, JioCinema will take care of the digital streaming section. However, for overseas viewers, distribution rights are being bagged by various entities which will help the tournament reach various nooks and corners of the globe.
