IPL 2024: Bikaner, Nagpur among 50 cities to get stadium-like experience with Fan Park

CSK will lock horns with RCB in the IPL 2024 opener at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai.

The eagerly-anticipated 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is all set to commence on March 22, with the clash between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. CSK are the defending champions, winning their fifth title in the 2023 season after outplaying 2022 debutants Gujarat Titans in the final showdown.

It is undeniable that the tournament will captivate cricket enthusiasts across the globe, which it has been doing since its inception. Adding to the excitement, there will be fan parks across 50 cities across the country during a two-month-long tournament. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), organizers of IPL, is earmarked to bring the game closer to fans globally and launched the concept of fan parks in 2015.

A total of 15 fan parks will be operational in the first two weeks of the tournament, from March 22 to April 7. Given that the thrilling face-off between Chennai and Bengaluru is scheduled to be contested in Chennai, the first fan park of this season unfolds in Madurai, Nagpur, Solapur, and Midnapur.

The fan parks will cover 11 states across the country — Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Uttarakhand, Gujarat, Karnataka, Jharkhand, Punjab, and Telangana. All these states host the fan parks in the first two weeks of the tournament, with five games taking place simultaneously across different cities, each week. Meanwhile, the BCCI is yet to announce the schedule for the fan parks post April 07, 2024.

Those who visit the fan parks will have the opportunity to exhibit their unwavering support for their beloved teams or players. In addition, the fans will have a plethora of entertainment options. Apart from live cricket action, attendees can enjoy music, merchandise stalls, a food court, and games, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all.
