After winning nine out of their last ten matches in Test cricket, England will now take on New Zealand in a two-match series in the latter’s backyard. The Kiwis in the meantime have been very ordinary in red-ball cricket ever since winning the World Test Championship in 2021 and thus, with the hope of proving their mettle, they will be raring to go against the Ben Stokes-led side.

However, it is not going to be an easy task for the New Zealand team. England in the last one year have played an aggressive brand of cricket, which completely revolutionised Test cricket. Courtesy of their fearless approach, they defeated New Zealand, South Africa and Pakistan in the last eight months and it has been very difficult for teams to stop their run in the longest format of the game. However, the Kiwis will be hoping to get the job done this time around and take their revenge for last year.

They however will have to do the job without Trent Boult, who will once again miss out on another Test series. In his absence, players like Tim Southee, Blair Tickner, and Neil Wagner need to take more responsibility, especially given the fact that the batters often face difficulty in playing against the pink ball. With that bat, the ever-so-dependent Kane Williamson will have to step up once again while a lot of eyes will be on Daryl Mitchell, who has been fantastic in Test cricket so far.
