Cricket fanatics all over the world will get to witness one of the most action-packed matches of the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 as England (ENG) and South Africa (SA) will lock horns on Saturday, October 21 at Wankhede Stadium, Mumbai. Both teams are coming into the game having faced embarrassing losses in their previous fixtures. 

England lost to Afghanistan by 69 runs while South Africa faced a defeat against the Netherlands by 38 runs. The Proteas began their tournament in emphatic fashion as they hammered Sri Lanka by 102 runs and Australia by 134 runs. The Temba Bavuma-led side is ranked on the third spot on the points table with two wins from three matches having four points to their name.

On the other hand, England began their campaign with a massive nine-wicket loss against New Zealand. The Jos Buttler-led side made a good comeback by winning their second fixture against Bangladesh by 137 runs but ended up losing against Afghanistan. Hence in the upcoming fixture, both teams will be eager to return back on the winning track.

Ahead of the action-packed encounter, fans are eager to know about the weather conditions for the match. Notably, cloudy conditions are expected for the match with a 10 percent chance of rain. However, the skies will open up and sunny weather is expected once the game gets underway. The humidity level is also expected to rise in the evening while the highest temperature will be 34°C in the afternoon.

Wankhede’s batting paradise will appeal to big hitters

The pitch at the Wankhede stadium has been great for batting in recent times. Batting under lights becomes a bit easy as four out of the last five matches at the venue has been won by teams batting second. Fans at the stadium will be in for a treat as both teams boast of several power hitters in their line ups. Captain winning the toss is likely to bowl first keeping the recent chasing records in mind.
