Odisha Police unravels miscreants involved in black marketing of India, England second ODI tickets
India have will play the second ODI in Cuttack on February 9.
After winning the T20I series by 4-1, India have commence the ODI series on a positive note by winning the first ODI at the VCA Stadium on February 6. The second fixture of the series is scheduled to be held at the Barabati Stadium in Cuttack and the fervour to procure tickets for the upcoming cricketing actions has skyrocketed among fans.
It is evident with all of India’s games across the country, when there is shortage of tickets people turn their heads towards unofficial means to not miss the action. With this demand on the cards, several middle men get hold of the tickets and resell them at an unfair price, capitalizing on the increased demand.

According to Deccan Chronicle, Odisha Police on February 7 arrested seven individuals, who were involved in black marketing the tickets, and seized 25 tickets along with Rs 30,000 in cash. The move came after complaints raised against the individuals for selling of illicit tickets. The investigation was held and three suspects were apprehended in the Dargaha Bazaar area, while another four were arrested by the Cantonment Police according to the police sources.
On the other hand, fans thronged to the box office at the Barabati Stadium to buy tickets and soon chaotic atmosphere ensued as the crowd went out of control. This also resulted in a stampede and the mishap was credited to the poor exit management by the organizers. Moreover, a video surfaced where a woman was selling blacked tickets for INR 5000 as the buyer negotiated it for INR 4000 and this soon made it to the television screens.
