One-Day Cup 2024: Western Australia collapse from 52/2 to 53 all out against Tasmania
Webster was adjudged Player of the Match for his impeccable outing displaying the figures of 6/17.
As unusual as it gets, a team lost eight wickets for just one run on cricket field. The instance occurred as Western Australia took on Tasmania in the One-Day Cup on October 25. Tasmania won the toss and elected to bowl first. Beau Webster six-for helped Tasmania bowl out Western Australia for just 53 runs in 20.1 overs.
The striking aspect of Western Australia’s innings was that they were 52/2 in 15.4 overs when Cameron Bancroft was dismissed. After that, it was a Webster show at the WACA in Perth. As soon as Josh Inglis was cleaned up by Billy Stanlake for one, the remaining seven batters could not even get off the mark. The seven victims consumed 26 balls combined and failed to fetch a single run.

Tasmania jump to second spot in points table
With this win, Tasmania opened their account in the tournament. They lost their first game to Victoria by four wickets while their subsequent game against Queensland was washed out. The win has also earned them a big chunk of points, they sit on second spot with seven points.
On the other hand, Western Australia have slid to the bottom of the table, after losing three of their four games. They have just four points against their name and a negative net run rate of -1.093 has become a point of concern for Ashton Turner-led side.
