Pakistan is bracing to host an ICC event for the first time since 1996 as Champions Trophy 2025 is scheduled to commence in February. Before the marquee event, Pakistan will host Bangladesh, England, and the West Indies for Test series. The preparations for the global event have cast a shadow on the second Test against Bangladesh as spectators will not be allowed to witness the teams in action.

The National Stadium in Karachi is under construction in preparation for the Champions Trophy. The second Test, scheduled to be held between August 30 and September 3 at the National Stadium, saw the ticket sales get suspended with immediate effect. As for the fans who have already purchased the tickets, the Pakistan Cricket Board has promised to refund the money.

"After careful consideration of all available options, we have decided that the safest course of action is to hold the second Test in front of an empty stadium. Fans who have already purchased tickets will receive a full refund automatically, with the amount credited to the account details provided at the time of purchase,” said PCB as quoted by NDTV Sports.
