Former Indian cricketer Virender Sehwag has thrown his weight behind Shivam Dube's inclusion in India's squad for the forthcoming T20 World Cup set to be held in the West Indies and the United States of America. Dube, who is currently representing the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL), has been displaying exceptional form, raising eyebrows and garnering support from cricketing veterans.
Sehwag, renowned for his aggressive batting style, emphasized the significance of selecting players in top form. He highlighted Dube's impressive performances in the IPL and said that the way he has been playing, his ticket should be confirmed for the T20 World Cup.
"I said before the match that the way Shivam Dube has been playing, his ticket should be confirmed for the T20 World Cup. He has put a lot of pressure on players like Rishabh Pant, Shreyas Iyer, Suryakumar Yadav, KL Rahul and now they have to score consistent runs to make the World Cup squad. Take the players who are in-form," Sehwag said on Cricbuzz's Hindi show.

Echoing Sehwag's sentiments, the legendary all-rounder Yuvraj Singh voiced his support for Dube's inclusion in the T20 World Cup squad. After witnessing Dube's explosive knock of 45 runs off
22 balls against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), Yuvraj took to social media, asserting, "Good to watch Shivam Dubey clearing the field with ease!! I feel he has to be in the World Cup squad. Has got the skill to be the game changer."

Despite Dube's commendable efforts, CSK faced a setback as SRH secured a convincing six-wicket victory. Noteworthy contributions from players like Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma, and Aiden Markram propelled SRH to chase down CSK's total of 165 runs. With this win, SRH has ascended to the fifth position in the IPL points table, boasting two wins out of four matches. CSK, on the other hand, occupies the third spot with an equal number of wins and losses, backed by a superior run rate.
