Kolkata Knight Riders and Sunrisers Hyderabad will exchange blows in the Final of the Indian Premier League 2024 at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on May 26.

The two teams had met earlier in Qualifier 1 of the IPL 2024 as KKR outclassed SRH to reach the finals. SRH had opted to bat first and were dealt with repeated blows by KKR bowlers. The Chennai’s adopted son, Suresh Raina backing his experience in playing at Chepauk has advised Pat Cummins to stick to their bat-first rule.

Both teams have good batting arsenal compared to any other teams in IPL 2024. It was evident as Hyderabad scored the highest-ever total of IPL of 287 and Kolkata followed them with 277 against Mumbai Indians. Raina also added that eight overs of spin from both sides will be crucial given Chennai track is conducive to spinners.

"Sunrisers should back their batting first approach and put runs on the board, but the eight overs of spin will be crucial. With KKR having won an IPL in Chennai, the pressure will be different. The key point for SRH is Pat Cummins who has already won the World Cup, he knows how to keep the dressing room running. You follow the process, you are switched on for the finals, the players know their roles, and everything will be organized," Raina told Jio Cinema.

SRH have lost twice to KKR in the 2024 league so far

It is worth noting that, both teams have won the coveted IPL trophy twice in their career. KKR last won the trophy in 2014 and SRH have not tasted the metal since 2016. While Shreyas Iyer led side finished on top of the points table, Cummins's team ended up in the second spot. Talking about the league stages, the Men-in-Orange faced the Purple camp twice and lost as many times leaving the impending clash to be a battle to watch out for.
