Star England all-rounder Will Jacks lit up the T20 Blast 2023 on Thursday, June 22 during a game between Surrey and Middlesex at The Oval as he smacked five consecutive sixes in one over. Wrist spinner Luke Hollman was at the receiving end as he was taken to the cleaners and smacked all around the park. The incident took place in the 11th over of Surrey's innings as they were 114/0 with Jacks on 56* (31).

The 24-year-old started the over by clobbering a half-tracker from Hollman towards deep mid-wicket for a six. On the second delivery, he cleared the long-off boundary and on the fourth one he played a spectacular shot sending the ball over extra cover. After hitting five consecutive sixes, the swashbuckling batter had the perfect opportunity to smash six sixes in an over. However, he ended up mistiming a full toss which went on the bounce to deep mid-wicket.

Watch the dramatic over here:

Notably, in T20Is only Yuvraj Singh and Kieron Pollard have achieved the amazing feat of smacking six consecutive sixes in an over. Earlier this year, Pakistan’s Iftikhar Ahmed clobbered Wahab Riaz to achieve the same feat during an exhibition match of the Pakistan Super League between Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmi in February.

Middlesex record stupendous run chase

Coming back to the match, batting first Surrey posted a monumental total of 252/7 courtesy of sensational knocks from openers Will Jacks (96 off 45) and Laurie Evans (85 off 37). The duo put up a massive opening stand of 177 in just 76 balls and laid the foundation for a gigantic total.

However, in reply, Middlesex stunned everyone by chasing down the improbable target in 19.2 overs as captain Stephen Eskinazi (73 off 39), Max Holden (68* off 35) and Ryan Higgins (48 off 24) went berserk with the bat. Chris Jordan was the only bowler amongst the wickets for Surrey as he picked 2/41 in four overs.
