USA have made a lot of noise after their historic win over Pakistan in the ongoing T20 World Cup. The hosts now want to keep up with the momentum and cause another upset when they take on India on June 12 at Nassau County International Cricket Stadium. Ahead of that, all-rounder Harmeet Singh stated that the pressure will be on the shoulders of the Indian players and added that it won’t be a high-scoring affair.

He mentioned that USA plans to stay in the game for the entire 20 overs, however, the Monank Patel-led is ready for a high-scoring contest as well. Harmeet believes that if the bowlers pick early wickets and put pressure on India, then USA might have a good chance to register another famous win.

“No expectations, the way the wicket is playing in New York it is uneven, I don't see a very high-scoring game. When the game is not high-scoring we can make a comeback in the game. If we take a couple of wickets early and play well in the middle... as long as we are in the game till the last ball the pressure will always be on the bigger side who is playing against us. I think this will be the plan, staying in the game for 20 overs,” Harmeet said ahead of the crucial Group A match.

Our confidence level is very high: Harmeet

In case USA manage to upset India, they would most certainly qualify for the Super 8. Ahead of that, Harmeet mentioned USA have played well in recent times and their confidence is high at the moment. He added that Pakistan recently lost to England in the T20I series and USA wanted to capitalise on that.

“We have been playing really well for the last few months. Our confidence level is very high. We knew Pakistan had recently lost two series and T20 is a format that works on momentum. When you lose, you keep on losing and you keep losing the key moments of the game," he noted.
