Following the last-ball thriller, which snatched the game away from Rajasthan Royals (RR), spinner Yuzvendra Chahal expressed that his side must swiftly forget the hurtful loss against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). Notably, Aiden Markram-led Sunrisers secured two crucial points after a thrilling win by four wickets at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Sunday, May 7.

Reflecting on the loss, spinner Chahal stated that his team must forget the outing altogether and move on. He further backed his side to come back stronger as the Royals eye for a spot in the playoffs.

“It is part of the game. We will storm back together. The sooner we will forget this match, the better it will be for us. It will take time, but still, three matches are there, and if we win our remaining three games, we are still in the hunt for play-offs,” Chahal told the media in the post-match press conference.

For the unversed, it was the final ball of the contest that garnered massive attention as things turned south for the Royals. Having to defend five off the last ball, veteran pacer Sandeep Sharma bowled a full-length ball, almost hitting the yorker length upon which Abdul Samad was holed out by Jos Buttler at long-off.

In an interesting turn of events, the umpire called it a no-ball for over-stepping. Playing the last ball for the second time, Samad pulled off a stunning heist in Jaipur as he cracked a maximum to snatch the game away from the home team.

Yuzvendra Chahal on the cusp of eclipsing impressive IPL record

Notably, Chahal claimed a four-wicket haul in the match against Sunrisers in his four overs. In doing so, the spinner is now on level terms with CSK legend Dwayne Bravo for registering the most wickets in the history of the top-tier league.

With his four-wicket haul, Chahal upped his tally to 183 wickets, getting on level terms with Bravo in mere 142 matches to the latter’s 161 outings. With three matches still to go in the group stage, Chahal will be gunning to scale the record and engrave his name in the history books.
