Pakistan's Muneeba Ali scripted history on February 15, 2023, as she became the first-ever female to score a century in T20Is for Pakistan in the ongoing Women's T20 World Cup 2023 in South Africa.

Pakistan locked horns with Ireland in the tenth clash of the marquee event, and the Women in Green were a sight to behold as they thrashed Ireland by a mammoth 70 runs to claim two crucial points, climb to the third spot of Group B and also massively boost their net run rate.

With her blistering performance in the clash against Ireland, Muneeba registered her name in the record books by registering the fifth highest individual score in the history

The bespectacled left-handed wicketkeeper-batter went all guns blazing against the Irish women as she tonked their bowlers all over the park to score a whopping 102 off just 68 deliveries. For the 25-year-old, perhaps Ireland happens to be her favourite opposition, as she had brought her first ODI century against the same opponents as well, scoring 107 back in November 2022 in Lahore.

In the case of Muneeba, even before her international debut, when she was a domestic cricketer, she was always prospected as a future star, who could definitely be very handy for Pakistan in international cricket. And Muneeba is undoubtedly living up to the expectations of all those who posed their faith on her.

Muneeba's century followed by Nashra Sandhu's four-for hands Pakistan victory

The opening batter's brilliant century powered Pakistan to a winning total of 165/5 in their quota of 20 overs, after being invited to bat first by Ireland. Pakistan bowlers too did a brilliant job as Nashra Sandhu's four-wicket haul helped ensured an early win for Pakistan as Ireland were bundled out for a paltry 95 runs in 16.3 overs.

After losing their campaign opener to India, Pakistan registered a magnificent win in their second game to keep their semi-final hopes alive.
