Women's T20 World Cup 2024: Pakistan announce 15-member squad, Fatima Sana replaces Nida Dar as skipper
Fatima will be leading the team for the first time in any ICC T20I tournament.
Nida Dar has been replaced by the Pakistan pacer, Fatima Sana as skipper for the upcoming Women’s T20 World Cup 2024. The marquee event was shifted to United Arab Emirates (UAE) from Bangladesh, owing to the political unrest in the country.
Notably, Fatima will be leading the team for the first time in any ICC T20I tournament.
One particular change has come in the form of Sadaf Shamas, as the batter replaced wicketkeeper-batter Najiha Alvi. It is worth noting that, Shamas was part of the Women's T20 World Cup in 2023.

Pakistan consists of almost same squad from last edition of T20 World Cup
One of the most interesting highlights of the announced squad has been that 10 players from the previous edition of the tournament have made the cut for the upcoming mega cricket carnival. Players like Aliya Riaz, Muneeba Ali, Nashra Sandhu, Omaima Sohail, Sadia Iqbal, Sidra Amin, Tuba Hassan, Shamas, Dar and Fatima will feature in consecutive editions. Uncapped left-arm seamer Tasmia Rubab has also featured in the starting 15.

Fatima Sana (c), Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Gull Feroza, Iram Javed, Muneeba Ali (wk), Nashra Sandhu, Nida Dar, Omaima Sohail, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal (subject to fitness), Sidra Amin, Syeda Aroob Shah, Tasmia Rubab, Tuba Hassan.
Travelling reserve: Najiha Alvi (wicketkeeper).
Non-travelling reserves: Rameen Shamim and Umm-e-Hani.
