After losing their opening encounter in the Women's Premier League (WPL) 2024 against Mumbai Indians, Delhi Capitals have bounced back strongly with a dominant performance against UP Warriorz. Meg Lanning and Co. got the better of the Warriorz by nine wickets in match 4 of WPL 2024 at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Monday, February 26.
Marizanne Kapp finished with mind-boggling figures of 3/5 in four overs after Delhi Capitals won the toss and opted to bowl first. Radha Yadav also bowled well and bagged a four-for. UP Warriorz were restricted to 119/9 in their 20 overs.
In reply, Delhi openers, Lanning and Shafali Verma added 119 runs before Jemimah Rodrigues hit a four off her first ball to give her team a resounding win. Lanning and Shafali both got fifties with the latter remaining unbeaten on 64 off 43 balls.
The next match of the five-team tournament is between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Gujarat Giants and it will be played at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Tuesday, February 27.

New Zealand's star all-rounder, Amelia Kerr, is the highest wicket-taker so far in WPL 2024. Kerr has looked in ominous form, having bagged six wickets in the two matches she has played so far.
