WPL 2025: Mumbai Indians Women retained players, released players and purse remaining ahead of auction

As the WPL 2025 Auction is not far away, Mumbai Indians Women have announced their list of retained and released players, on Thursday, November 07. The champions of the inaugural edition haven't made a lot of changes to their core unit, retaining players like captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Natalie Sciver-Brunt, and Yastika Bhatia.

Harmanpreet is expected to assume the captain's role once again, while Yastika is set to don the wicketkeeper's gloves. Meanwhile, swashbuckling all-rounder Hayley Matthews has also been retained by the franchise, and she will be seen opening alongside Yastika as per the usual combination for the popular franchise.

South Africa's Chloe Tryon has also found her name in the list of retainees, and she has been joined in the list alongside names like Amanjot Kaur, Amandeep Kaur, Jintimani Kalita, Keerthana B, and Saika Ishaque. Additionally, India players like Pooja Vastrakar and Sajana Sajeevan are also retained, comprising a total of fourteen players kept by the franchise for the upcoming edition.

However, Issy Wong was among the most shocking names in the set of players released by the Mumbai-based franchise. Among other players released by the franchise include Fatima Jaffer, Humairaa Kaazi, and Priyanka Bala, all of whom are Indian players.
