After hammering Rajasthan Royals in their last match, Gujrat Titans will now take on Lucknow Super Giants at the Narendra Modi Stadium on May 7. Be it their batting or bowling, the Hardik Pandya-led side is playing some brilliant cricket at the moment, while the same cannot be said for the visiting team, despite them being in the top four of the IPL Points Table at the moment.

The injury to skipper KL Rahul has jolted LSG. The 30-year-old suffered a horrific injury in the match against Royal Challengers Bangalore on May 1 and with that, he is ruled out of the ongoing IPL 2023 and will also not feature in the upcoming World Test Championship finale.

Karun Nair has been called up as his replacement in the LSG team but there are doubts about the amount of runs he can contribute in the current season.

Now, even though Rahul wasn't in great form with the bat, the opener was brilliant as captain and courtesy of the same, Lucknow are doing well in the ongoing season. In his absence, Krunal Pandya has taken over and it needs to be seen if he can do justice to the role.

Indian batters, meanwhile, will have to step as well, just like how Ayush Badoni did in the last match against CSK. Bowlers, meanwhile, will have a tough job against GT.

When it comes to the defending champions, players like Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmad are in phenomenal form at the moment. Mohammed Shami is doing well too and thus the bowling department looks more or less sorted. However, Joshua Little has left the GT camp in order to join his national team and that is one area that the team management will have to work on at the moment. Alzarri Joseph may come in as his replacement.

Wriddhiman Saha showed a lot of composure in the last match while Shubman Gill has been a bit inconsistent. On the other hand, Hardik Pandya was at his absolute best in the match against Rajasthan and thus, there are a lot of positives for them at the moment.

Pitch and Conditions

The deck at the Narendra Modi Stadium is a balanced one. The pacers are likely to get some advantage initially but once the batters are settled, they can score quick runs. Anything close to 190 runs will be a good total and bowling first will be ideal.

Probable Playing XI for GT vs LSG

Gujarat Titans

With Joshua Little now out of the squad, Alzarri Joseph may come in and that’s probably the only change GT will make. Other than that, they look more or less sorted and will be hoping to add two more points to their name.

Predicted XI- Wriddhiman Saha (wk), Shubman Gill, Hardik Pandya (c), Vijay Shankar, David Miller, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohit Sharma, Noor Ahmad, Mohammed Shami, Alzarri Joseph

Lucknow Super Giants

It will be interesting to see if LSG stick with Manan Vohra or brings in Quinton de Kock. Deepak Hooda is likely to make his return to the playing XI and other than that, LSG are not likely to make any changes.

Predicted XI- Kyle Mayers, Manan Vohra, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Krunal Pandya (c), Krishnappa Gowtham, Naveen-ul-Haq, Ravi Bishnoi, Mohsin Khan
