After coming in to bat first, Heinrich Klaasen's 86 helped the hosts post 239. Pakistan's Salman Agha looked in brilliant touch, taking four wickets. The Men in Green followed up the bowling performance with a good show with the bat during the chase.
Saim Ayub opened the innings and hit a masterful ton, scoring 109 off 119 to help Pakistan win by three wickets. With the second ODI approaching, the Proteas will look to level the series with a win.
