IPL 2024: CSK vs KKR, Match 22 - Latest IPL 2024 Points Table, Highest Run Scorers and Wicket Takers
CSK emerged victorious by seven wickets as they handed KKR their first defeat of the season.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) met each other in the 22nd match of IPL 2024 on Monday at MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai. CSK won the toss and chose to bowl first. KKR didn't have the start to the game they would have liked as they lost their opener Phil Salt in the very first over of the match.
The KKR batters struggled through the first innings as no batter could hold one end to take the team to a competitive total. KKR gave a target of 137/9 in 20 overs, skipper Shreyas Iyer was the highest scorer for the visitors as he scored 34 runs off 32 balls. Tushar Deshpande and Ravindra Jadeja were the pick of the bowlers as they both picked three crucial wickets respectively.
Coming to the chase the hosts were looking to win comfortably and better their net run rate. Skipper Ruturaj Gaikwad (67) led from the front and scored his first fifty of the season and took his team home and helped them register their third victory of the season after two back-to-back defeats.
Daryl Mitchell played a crucial cameo and departed after scoring 25 runs. Impact player Shivam Dube smashed a quickfire 28 off 18 to make things easier for the hosts. CSK won the game by seven wickets and handed KKR their first defeat of the season.

Most Wickers in IPL 2024
CSK's Mustafizur Rahman has reclaimed the top position in the Most Wickets in the IPL 2024 season. The Bangladeshi-born picked up two wickets and was very economical as he just gave 22 runs in his quota of four overs. He now has taken nine wickets and gone past Rajasthan Royals leg spinner Yuzvendra Chahal in the tally.
