IPL 2025: DC vs KKR Stats & Records at Arun Jaitley Stadium, Delhi
DC have hit a small roadblock in their IPL 2025 campaign.
Delhi Capitals started the season with aplomb but seem to have hit a roadblock in the Indian Premier League 2025. Defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders, on the other hand, have been struggling with inconsistency in the tournament and sit at a not-so-pretty seventh place. For what it's worth, DC have a mathematical opportunity to go to the top of the points table in this clash.
KKR currently have 7 points from 9 matches, partly down to their no result against PBKS in Kolkata in their last game. Priyansh Arya and Prabhsimran Singh struck aggressive fifties in a dominant opening partnership, but PBKS' finishing turned a little damp as they added just 40 runs in the last five overs. KKR had gone through just one over of the chase before rain played spoilsport.
DC went down to RCB in their last game in Delhi. Abhishek Porel started DC out aggressively, but his dismissal gave RCB an opening. Krunal Pandya and Suyash Sharma kept a tight rope throughout the middle overs. KL Rahul scored runs on a tough pitch, but they did not come fast enough. Bhuvneshwar Kumar took important wickets at the death, even as Tristan Stubbs gave DC a push at the end.
RCB started out fairly fast, but Jacob Bethell's debut was reduced to a cameo by Axar Patel. Patel struck again, dismissing Devdutt Padikkal two balls later. RCB were suddenly in crisis when Rajat Patidar fell to a run-out. From 26/3, Virat Kohli and Pandya took over. Both started scratchily, and despite the required rate climbing, never lost their wickets. In the second half, Pandya started finding the boundaries while Kohli stood like a rock. Both reached their fifties near the end, and Tim David finished the chase.

Player battles to watch out for in Delhi Capitals vs Kolkata Knight Riders, Match 48:
1. Axar Patel vs Varun Chakaravarthy
In recent times, the DC skipper has been shouldering more and more responsibility with the bat, especially in the middle overs. But in this match, he will have to face a bowler who has tormented him frequently. Axar Patel has faced 23 balls from Varun Chakaravarthy in the IPL, scoring just 7 runs at a strike rate of 30.43. He has also been dismissed twice, averaging only 3.50.
2. Ajinkya Rahane vs Kuldeep Yadav
Captain Ajinkya Rahane has been pretty much the only thing going right for KKR with the bat in the tournament, and his form is crucial to their chances. Kuldeep Yadav has been easily the best middle-overs bowler in this tournament and has consistently come out on top against Rahane. Overall, Rahane has scored just 19 runs in 27 balls at a strike rate of 70.37, while being dismissed twice at an average of 9.50.
