Punjab Kings (PBKS) unbeaten run in IPL 2025 has been snapped, but they are still fourth on the points table. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) on the other hand, have lost three matches in a row after winning their first one. The two teams will be up against each other in Match 22 of IPL 2025 at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur, Chandigarh, on April 8.
PBKS went down to RR by 50 runs in their previous game at the same stadium. Yashasvi Jaiswal's circumspect fifty was well supported by Sanju Samson and later backed by Riyan Parag and Shimron Hetmyer explosive camoes to the visiting side to 205/4. Pacer Jofra Archer then took two wickets in the first over, and that seemd to be it for a while. PBKS' top order collapsed under the scoreboard pressure, but Nehal Wadhera kept hopes alive. However, in the end there was just too much to do as the hosts fell well short.
Meanwhile, CSK lost their last game to Delhi Capitals at home. On a slow Chepauk pitch, KL Rahul brought his A-game with a fifty that gave DC a competetitive183/6. DC bowlers then inflicted a top-order collapse as the home side lost half their side in first ten overs. Towards the end, Vijay Shankar and MS Dhoni ended up playing to mitigate the loss margin to the ire of many.

In 35 balls, Arshddeep has gotten Gaikwad out thrice for just 40 runs at a strike rate of 114.28 and average of 13.33.
