Ishant Sharma, who recently won the prestigious Arjuna Award, celebrated his 32nd birthday today on 2nd September. The BCCI shared the video of the lanky pacer’s phenomenal five-wicket haul against Bangladesh in the Pink Ball Test. India captain Virat Kohli also posted a couple of pictures with Ishant and wished him on his birthday. A plethora of names from the cricket fraternity extended birthday wishes to Ishant.
Sachin Tendulkar, Pragyan Ojha and Shreyas Iyer were amongst the names who wished Ishant on his birthday. Ishant had made his Test debut against Bangladesh in 2007 and had donned the coloured jersey against South Africa in the same year. He will be seen donning the Delhi Capitals jersey in this year’s IPL. In the previous edition, he had scalped 13 wickets from 13 games, playing an important role in DC’s journey to the playoffs.
Lasith Malinga also hogged the limelight after the pacer pulled out from IPL 2020. The Sri Lankan legend, according to reports, wants to be with his family at this time. He requested the franchise to not consider for the IPL this season. MI have signed James Pattinson as Malinga’s replacement.
