The cricketing trends on social media revolved around a number of events. Indian Women locked horns with Australia in the final of the Tri-nation series in which the hosts outclassed the visitors with sheer dominance. While batting first Aussie women posted a competitive total of 155 runs for a loss os six wickets in 20 overs. Beth Mooney played a responsible knock of 71 runs off 54 balls studded with nine boundaries. Ashleigh Gardner (26) and Meg Lanning (26) also contributed well with the bat for their team.
But, India Women failed to chase the target and lost the final by 11 runs. Only Smriti Mandhana managed to click a good knock with the bat as she muscled 66 runs off 37 balls studded with 12 boundaries. And other batters failed to support from the other end. After the match, Harmanpreet Kaur took to her Twitter handle and shared an optimistic post. She also felt that they learnt a lot from their defeat. And, as a team, they are looking forward to the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Meanwhile, Sachin Tendulkar hilariously quoted about cricketer turned singer friend Vinod Kambli as a new rapper in the town. On the other hand, Michael Vaughan, the former England skipper felt bad for Tom Banton for not getting a place in the T20I squad for the series against South Africa.
