Cricketing trends on social media today
Here's how the cricketers spent their day on Twitter and Instagram today.
The cricketing trends on social media revolved around numerous things today but none more major than the ongoing farmers’ protest and the subsequent internationalization of the matter after the global pop star Rihanna, among others, tweeted on the issue.
From Sachin Tendulkar and Virat Kohli to Rohit Sharma and Ravi Shastri, numerous cricketing stalwarts have voiced their opinion, which has had a similar tone demanding external parties to stay away from a matter that is India’s internal.
Former Indian skipper and the legendary all-rounder Kapil Dev was not far behind in joining the caravan of cricketers expressing themselves over the protest. He took to Twitter to pour his voice in and wished India success for their upcoming assignment in the same tweet.
India is all set to host England for a full-fledged home series, which will commence from the first Test at the MA Chidambaram Stadium, Chennai, behind closed doors. Ahead of the same, Ravindra Jadeja, who is missing from India’s ranks due to injury, took to the microblogging site Twitter to send his best wishes and cheers for his nation.
Ishant Sharma, who unfortunately missed out to be a part of India’s historic triumph against Australia, has regained complete fitness and is keen to regroup with his team for the series against England. Posting his snap from a practice session earlier in the day, he captioned the post, “Ready for the match after almost a year. Straight into it”. Indian cricketers Ajinkya Rahane and Cheteshwar Pujara expressed their excitement through their posts, too, sharing pictures from India’s practice session ahead of the Chennai Test.
The Perth Scorchers thumped the Brisbane Heat in the BBL Challenger of the 10th edition to steer themselves into the final, which is scheduled to be played on the 6th of February. Heat’s coach and former Australian cricketer Darren Lehmann congratulated the Scorchers for their victory and extended his wishes to the fans who stood for the Brisbane team during their tournament journey. Former English cricketer Ian Bell also joined in wishing Perth Scorchers for their success.
