Delhi Capitals are going to expose a lot of weaknesses in the CSK line-up: Brad Hogg
Hogg pointed that DC’s bowlers will pose threat to CSK’s batters.
CSK and DC will lock horns with each other for the Qualifier one of the Indian Premier League. The match between the table-toppers is going to be an intriguing contest as whoever wins will book their seat for the finals. The former Australia spinner Brad Hogg has however opened up on this high-profile match.
The Rishabh Pant-led side has had an edge over CSK in both the league games of the tournament. The team currently has one of the best bowling units in the tournament and that has been one of the reasons for DC’s successful run in the league. Hogg mentioned the strength of DC’s bowling lineup and asserted that they will expose a lot of weaknesses of the Men in Yellow.
“Delhi Capitals are the best because they are playing against the third-best team in the competition – Chennai Super Kings. Delhi Capitals are going to expose a lot of weaknesses in the Chennai line-up. If you look at the DC bowling line-up, they have got pace – Anrich Nortje, Avesh Khan opening the bowling, (Kagiso) Rabada coming in the middle overs as well with the extra pace. They have two quality spinners in Axar Patel and Ravichandran Ashwin,” Hogg said on his YouTube channel.
They can’t rely on Jadeja and Bravo to make up for that weakness in the middle-order: Brad Hogg
CSK’s openers have done a splendid job for the team in this season of the IPL. However, the concern for CSK has been the form of their middle-order batters that have been unable to hold the fort of the side. Hogg discussed these points and pointed that DC’s bowlers will pose threat to CSK’s batters. He also mentioned the struggle of the middle-order of the MS Dhoni-led side that has been unable to make a greater impact.
“Nortje and Avesh Khan against Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad, they are going to expose a few weaknesses with the short ball to both of those players. If they get early wickets, then they expose that middle-order, which is starting to fall out of form a little bit.
“Moeen Ali has lost his way a little bit. Uthappa hasn’t adopted that well to the middle-order role. If Raina comes back as well, he doesn’t like pace. I am not confident with Rayudu’s form at the moment and Dhoni as well seems to be out of touch. They can’t rely on Jadeja and Bravo to make up for that weakness in the middle-order,” Hogg added.
