Emirates D10 2021: Day 2 - Round-Up
All the three matches on Day 2 were one-sided affairs.
The ball continued to roll on the second day of the 2021 season of the Emirates D10. While the Ajman team played two matches, the rest of the sides that played on Day 1 featured in a game each. It was a day to forget for Ajman as they lost both of their matches while Emirates Blues, Fujairah and Sharjah won their respective matches.
It was a walk in the park for Emirates against Ajman in the first game of the day. Ajman crawled their way to 86/7 only due to a 19-ball 33-run knock from Ameer Hamza down the order. CP Rizwan and Akif Raja returned with the figures of 2/12 and 2/9 respectively to leave the opposition reeling. Chasing 87, Mohammad Boota was in full flow with the bat.
He smacked an unbeaten 71 off just 31 deliveries with 10 fours and three sixes while his opening partner mustered 14 off 15 to take the team home in the 8th over itself.
In the second game, Ajman batsmen put up a much better performance after opting to bat first. Muhammad Kalim Hafiz scored 37 off 18 and the rest of the batters chipped in with useful contributions to post 106 runs for the loss of seven wickets in their allotted 10 overs. Umair Ali and Rohan Mustafa shared four wickets equally with the ball for Sharjah.
Chasing a daunting total, Sharjah got off to a good start with Khalid Shah smashing 27 off 14 balls. Renjith Mani then took over from him to finish things off in style with an unbeaten 33 off 15 balls as they chased down the target in 7.2 overs only.
Another one-sided game ends Day 2
The day ended with the third consecutive one-sided affair between Fujairah and Dubai. After opting to bowl first, Dubai ended up conceding 102 runs while their bowlers picked seven wickets. Chirag Suri’s 12-ball 29 propelled Fujairah early on Ahmed Raza (17) and Hamdan Tahir (19*) finished the innings in style. Nilansh Keswani (3/14) and Muhammad Farooq (2/8) starred with the ball.
However, in the chase, Dubai were a no match. They were left reeling at 13/3 in two overs and never recovered from early blows. Ronak Panoly was the only batsman to cross the 20-run mark as Dubai fell 26 runs short to lose the match.

Dubai – 76/8 after 10 overs (R Panoly 23; Z Khan 2/13)
Fujairah won the match by 26 runs.
