India might have been competitive but failed to capture the crucial moments and let it slip thus giving away the advantage to the England team. As a result, they are 3-1 down in the series after the first four matches. Except for Virat Kohli, no other Indian batsman has scored runs consistently and the batting of the bottom five has become a worry. Indian team needs to find a way to restrict the English lower-order from adding big runs as it has come back to bite them on almost all occasions. If India manages to win the final Test, it will be only the 2nd time they win more than one Test in a series in England.

5 – Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravichandran Ashwin and Hardik Pandya all have claimed ten and more wickets in this series thus far. This is the first time four pacers and five different bowlers have taken 10+ wickets in the same Test series.

251 – Sam Curran has scored 251 runs in this Test series thus far all while batting at No.8. He scored 40+ in the last four innings making him the first player in Test history with four 40+ scores at No.8.

396 – England’s total of 396/7 in the 2nd Test is the highest total in this series thus far. If no team manages to cross the 400-run mark in the final match, this will be the first 5-match Test series in 39 years without a 400+ total.

544 – Runs Virat Kohli has scored in this Test series thus far. Only Rahul Dravid (602 in 2002) scored more runs in a single Test series in England among Indians. If Kohli scored 56 more runs, this will be the 4th time where he scored over 600 runs in a Test series.

2010 – The last instance when India won an away Test match while batting 2nd was in the 2010 Colombo Test against Sri Lanka. Their last win outside Asia was back in 2009 against New Zealand in the Hamilton Test.

17979 – Virat Kohli needed 21 more runs to complete 18000 runs in International cricket. The Indian skipper needs 21 more runs for completing 3000 International runs against England.
