Fakhar Zaman opens up about things said to him by Indians in CT Finals

The overnight sensation for Pakistan, Fakhar Zaman, who has been showered with praises and accolades after his touchdown to his native country, described in detail about the things spoken to him by Virat Kohli and co. during the famous Champions Trophy Final against India.

Zaman claimed that Kohli was constantly mocking at the fragile batting line up of Pakistan when the opening pair were going great guns and drew first blood in the match. The left-hander also claimed that even Jasprit Bumrah didn’t shy away from being vocal after he dismissed the batsman off to that infamous no-ball.

Bumrah took a jibe Zaman’s streaky phase of his knock, where he was nicking more often than not. Bumrah took notice of that fact and asked him to score runs straighter rather than behind him. Later on, he concluded by adding that Kohli and co, did not cross any sort of line and were well within the spirit of cricket while sledging him.

“There was a lot of chatter when Azhar Ali and I were at the crease. Virat was constantly saying, ‘Arre, ek wicket nikal jayega toh yeh saare out ho jaayenge.. Bas ek ko nikaalo jaldi’ (If we get one wicket, the rest will collapse). Bumrah had me caught behind, but it was off a no ball. So, he was also very vocal.” claimed Fakhar Zaman according to a detailed interview with First Post.

“On one occasion, he said, ‘Thoda saamne bhi run banaa le. Kab tak aise khelega?(Make some runs in front of the wicket’. How long are you going to play like this?)” But to be honest, the Indian players didn’t cross any line. Actually, that was purely cricket-related and positive sledging, which is fine. Everyone wants to see his team win and they do their best to achieve that.” concluded the southpaw.
