Glamorgan did not shy away from such a huge target and started their innings with intent. They had a brilliant opening partnership of 76 runs in just seven overs. They did not slow down even after they had lost a few wickets initially. But then came a phase in the middle overs where they started losing wickets in quick succession. They did not have any significant partnerships being made, which could stop this flow of wickets. As a result, they were bowled out at the score of 175 runs. This meant Essex won the match comfortably with a huge margin of 51 runs.
