Former Chennai Superkings young Turk, Pawan Negi, revealed that it felt like home to be present in MA Chidambaram Stadium, wearing the yellows of CSK. Negi spent the two seasons in the interim for two different franchises (Delhi Daredevils and Royal Challengers Bangalore. Matthew Hayden’s side took on MS Dhoni’s side in a six hitting competition ahead of the TNPL opener.
Negi had been an integral part of the CSK line-up over the years. He was also part of the national squad during India’s T20 preparation for the World Cup. He made his T20I debut against UAE in the Asia Cup held in Bangladesh. However, he could not get any further opportunities and went out of favour shortly. However, during a recent interview, Negi was all praises for CSK and the exposure provided by the platform.
“It feels great to be back here because I feel at home here. Our team has always been like a family and that is the feeling I get every time I come here. It was a great experience for me and I learnt a lot about cricket during my time with CSK both on and off the field. The experience helped me as a cricketer and CSK provided me with the platform, standing on which I progressed as a cricketer.” commented Pawan Negi according to the interview with TNCA.

“When I played for CSK, I was the only uncapped player. All others had represented their teams at the international level. Some, like Brendon McCullum, Faf du Plessis and obviously MS Dhoni, were skippers of their respective national tests. I did feel nervous in the beginning. But I was at ease and that helped me open up. I had a lot of fun playing for CSK.” concluded the all-rounder.
