If there was ever a batsman, who revolutionized T20 cricket with his bat and his presence of the field, the credit for that goes to none other than Abraham Benjamin de Villiers. The South African batsman can turn the state of the game in a matter of few deliveries by striking the ball in all the parts of the ground.

It is for this reason that 35-year old is often known as a ‘360-degree batsman’ since he can hit the ball anywhere from any part of the crease and break the spirit of the best of the bowlers. The Proteas superstar created the record for the fastest fifty, fastest hundred and fastest fifty in ODIs all at the same time.

When it comes to the IPL, De Villiers formed a formidable partnership with his captain Virat Kohli for the Bangalore franchise. The duo holds the record for the highest partnership for any wicket, adding 229 runs for the second wicket, of which the South African scored 129 off 52 balls. With a strike rate close to 150 and an experience of over 150 matches with three centuries, he is one of the foremost contenders to break the record.
