Bangladesh’s pace bowling sensation Mustafizur Rahman is hogging all the limelight with his consistent performances for the last few months. Mustafizur missed out on playing the qualifier match for his team Sunrisers Hyderabad in Delhi last night but has been one of the key wicket takers for them in this edition of the IPL. Time and again he has impressed everyone with his accurate line and lengths.

While the list of admirers doesn’t cease to end, he recently got the praises from some of the legendary players from the past. Former Indian batsman Krishnamachari Srikkanth and former Indian bowler Manoj Prabhakar went on to quote him as the best. Former Pakistan player Ramiz Raja, too, wasn’t far behind in praising Mustafizur Rahman.

Prabhakar said that not many bowlers are as accurate as Rahman at the moment. He cited Malinga’s example as one of the best and then went on to commend the control Rahman has on the ball, with both pace and swing.

“There is no doubt that Mustafizur is the best bowler right now. Sri Lanka’s LasithMalinga was ine who could bowl good Yorkers. But right now, Mustafizur is at his peak. He bowls the cutters really fast and has other variations, which he delivers with the same momentum. If you are struggling to control the swing, it becomes important to bowl cross seam. But Mustafizur doesn’t need to do that,” commented Manoj Prabhakar.

Srikkanth praised the young lad too but said the Bangladeshi needs to continue performing this way for some time so that people can proudly say he is the best bowler in the world. However, he admitted that Rahman is certainly ahead of everyone else in the race.

“There aren’t too many better than him at the moment. But he needs to perform like this for some time before we can say he is the best. For now, he looks ahead of the pack,” quipped KrishnamachariSrikkanth.

Ramiz Raja believed that Dale Steyn and James Anderson rule the roost in the Tests but Rahman is undoubtedly the best in the limited overs.

“There are quite a lot of them like James Anderson, or Steyn, who are very good in Tests. But right now, Mustafizur is the best pacer in the limited overs. WahabRiaz is also good, but he is generally in his elements in the Tests,” quoted Ramiz Raja.
