The hard-hitting West Indian all-rounder Carlos Brathwaite has credited the success of the Delhi Daredevils to the great atmosphere in the dressing room. The all-rounder said that the players share a great bond and camaraderie in the dressing room and hence it is the ‘fun dressing room’ that remains to be the key to the success of their side.

Delhi Daredevils moved to the second spot in the points table after their 27 run win over the Kolkata Knight Riders. Carlos Brathwaite was out of the playing eleven for the last two games and made the most out of the chance he got against the Knights. Brathwaite, with his 11-ball 34 and a spell of 3/47, won the man of the match for his efforts.

Commenting on the dressing room atmosphere and the team build up, he said, “I won’t talk about the past since I was not there, but this year there’s a lot of stress on processes and solid preparation. It’s a fun dressing room. The players are good friends off the field and that unites them on the field under pressure.”

Brathwaite also stressed on the fact that the team lineup depends on the conditions and he was not dropped from the side. “It’s horses for courses. Imran Tahir didn’t play today but it’s not that he was dropped. I was not dropped. Only four foreign players can play, but still, the one who is missing out gives the same support to the team,” quoted the West Indian.

He was all praise for Karun Nair and Sam Billings and admitted that they helped him play his natural game. “The pitch was true, but Karun Nair and Sam Billings allowed me to bat where I wanted to bat. They laid the foundation,” he further added.
