#HardikabusedRohit trends on Twitter as bizarre video involving Hardik Pandya goes viral
Pandya’s voice was caught from the stump mic, and it seemed like he was giving a teammate an earful.
A bizarre video involving Indian all-rounder Hardik Pandya, in the second T20I between England and India at Edgbaston, has surfaced on the internet. Pandya’s voice was caught from the stump mic, and it seemed like he was giving one of his teammates an earful. And strangely, the video clip, along with the hashtag #HardikabusedRohit was trending on Twitter.
The video shows an overall view of the Edgbaston ground during an over-break, with the Indian all-rounder’s voice in the background. He was heard asking a teammate, seemingly angry, to focus on him when he is bowling rather than on others on the field. There have been over 2,800 tweets with that hashtag, and many fans deemed that it was Pandya telling off his captain, Rohit Sharma.
‘Could not find how Hardik abused Rohit. Social media can be bizarre’
There is no way to know who the 28-year-old was talking to from the video clip, and this has left a section of Twitter puzzled. “Opened Twitter to see #HardikAbusedRohit trending. Went through the tweets, could not find when or how Hardik abused Rohit,” a user tweeted. “Social media can be bizarre.”
However, it ended with smiles for the former Mumbai Indians teammates as India won that match by 49 runs and clinched the series with a game to spare on July 9, Saturday. India, later on, lost the third T20I in Trent Bridge, Nottingham, on Sunday, as India fells short by 17 runs. This ended Rohit’s winning streak of 14, but the series win extended India’s supremacy over England as this was India’s fourth successive T20I series win against the Three Lions.
The silver lining for India in the Trent Bridge T20I, however, was India’s rising batting talent, Suryakumar Yadav, who scored a magnificent hundred when none of the other Indian batters went past a score of 30. He walked in at 31 for the loss of three wickets after five overs, chasing a target of 216, and finished with 117 off 55 balls, scoring his maiden ton, and becoming only the fifth Indian to score a T20I hundred. The next in line for the two teams is a three-match ODI series, starting on Tuesday.
