Here’s the probable reason behind Ahmed Shehzad’s dope test failure
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) isn’t ready to file a charge-sheet against the Lahore-born cricketer.
Pakistan cricket and controversy have developed an exotic relationship over the past few years. From spot-fixing, dope tests to other undesired scandals, a number of players in Shoaib Akhtar, Mohammad Asif and others has got themselves tangled in some issues or the other. In a recent development, batsman Ahmed Shehzad has been tested positive for the consumption of a banned substance.
The news broke out yesterday night and it may turn out to be another massive blow to the already tarnished reputation of Pakistani cricket. Meanwhile, it was already learned that the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) isn’t ready to file a charge-sheet against the Lahore-born cricketer until the chemical substance is confirmed by the Anti-Doping Agency of the government.
Shehzad in massive trouble
The test was conducted during the Pakistan Cup, which took place between April and May. Shehzad also was part of the national team’s setup in their recently concluded T20I series versus Scotland. The 26-year old could only manage 38 runs in the couple of matches. Meanwhile, another revelation surrounding the grave matter has sparked out of the blues.
Pakistan sports journalist, Zainab Abbas recently threw light on the reason behind Shehzad drooping in the test. She mentioned that the youngster smoked Marijuana, an addictive drug. She took to Twitter and put forth the news. She wrote, “Ahmad Shahzad has been tested positive for Marijuana – the test was conducted prior to the Scotland series during Pakistan Cup.”
Here is her Tweet
This isn’t the first time when Shehzad has got himself under the stranglehold of controversies. In 2016, he was dropped from Pakistan’s Test squad for their tour of England owing to disciplinary issues. The selection panel affirmed their focus on discipline as an integral part of team ambiance. For the time being, it will be interesting to find the new exposures surrounding the matter.
