I am pleading with the people to make generous contribution, says Jacob Martin's wife Khyati
He was set to be discharged on Monday but is now again on oxygen.
The former India cricketer Jacob Martin met with an accident in December and is in the hospital ever since then. He received generous financial help from the cricketing fraternity after his wife Khyati’s appeal. The likes of Irfan Pathan, Yusuf Pathan, BCCI, CSK franchise and the Baroda Cricket Association (BCA) among many extended their helping hand for Jacob.
He was all set to be discharged on Monday but as fate would have it, there was some fluctuation in the Acute Respiratory Distress System (ARDS) reading and Jacob’s stay in the hospital was extended for a week again. Khyati has been appealing for the people of India to help them financially but all the calls have been fallen on deaf ears. Once again, she has asked for help now as her husband has been admitted again and is on oxygen now.
“I don’t know how serious the situation is now, I am told it will require another week in the hospital because of the fluctuation in the Acute Respiratory Distress System (ARDS) reading and we need some more money for treatment and medicine,” she was quoted as saying by Mumbai Mirror.
I am not blaming anyone
The hospital bill has shot over the total donation so far and after Jacob Martin forced stay for another week due to the emergency has led to his wife asking for more money. “I am not blaming anyone, I am pleading with people of this country to make a generous contribution. The hospital bill has overshot the total donation and after yesterday’s deterioration, I will need much more,” she further added.
Khyati also informed that there have been calls from UK and US voicing concerns about Jacob’s health but no help has been offered yet. “There have been odd inquiries, there were even calls from UK and US. Jacob had played in a London league and we were happy that there would be some aid coming my way. But not much help actually,” Khyati said.
