ICC World Cup 2019: Match 8, South Africa vs India – Dream11 Fantasy Team based on Stats
This team is picked purely based on the players' recent statistics.
Team India will belatedly begin its World Cup 2019 campaign in Southampton as they take on South Africa. Both the teams, with no points on the points table, will start even. But it is the third game for the Proteas and they’ve had two heartbreaking losses in the tournament thus far. The side is clearly hurt after these losses and will be desperate to come back strong.
At the same time, both these teams have had some injury woes. They will hope that their important players manage to pull through and play in this fixture. While the teams have their own set of problems, if you are one amongst those Dream11 Fantasy enthusiasts, you’ve got some tough calls to take. A lot of players from both these sides demand quite high credits and forming an eleven won’t be easy. Going by the stats could help you a bit, though.
Here we bring you the Dream11 Fantasy team based on the stats of the players:
Wicketkeepers:
Even though you have to spend 10 credits on Quinton de Kock, he is obviously a must in your team. The stats reveal that he is the best in the wicket-keeper’s category when you have a look at the performances in the last 5 ODIs. He is worth being the vice-captain of your side as well. MS Dhoni, at 8.5 credits, should be another great pick in your team. He scored 134 runs in the last five games and even registered a century in the warm-up game.
Batsmen:
Picking Virat Kohli from the batsmen’s category is a no-brainer. The Indian skipper is amongst the most consistent players in world cricket and his numbers reflect the same. It wouldn’t be a bad choice having him as the skipper of your side. Both Rohit Sharma and Faf du Plessis take 10 credits. The Proteas skipper could be the better choice in your eleven. The other pick can be Rassie van der Dussen who takes just 8.5 credits.
All-Rounders:
Credits could be a problem while picking your all-rounders as well. But Hardik Pandya is a must in the side. He scored 82 runs and picked up 5 wickets in the last five games. From the South African team, you can choose Andile Phehlukwayo who scored 70 runs and accounted for 6 scalps in the previous 5 ODIs.
Bowlers:
There are some high-quality bowlers in both the teams. Imran Tahir and Kuldeep Yadav have been the best of the lot. Both these spinners picked 10 wickets each in the last five outings. From India, Bhuvneshwar Kumar has got the best numbers but he might not get to play in the tournament opener. Jasprit Bumrah is a better option. Kagiso Rabada is the other pick that you can make in the bowler’s category.
