IND vs WI: Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli team up to celebrate Kieron Pollard's wicket together
Virat Kohli has been involved in the action in the ongoing first ODI against West Indies.
Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma always remain a talking point irrespective of the situation on and off the field. A lot of times, reports of rift between them do the rounds while Kohli has time and again quashed all the rumours. Even the chief selector Chetan Sharma recently had to throw light on their relationship while stating that all is good between the superstar duo.
Well, the same was on display during the first ODI against West Indies in Ahmedabad on Sunday (February 6). India were already on top with Yuzvendra Chahal dismissing Nicholas Pooran in his very first over. It was the visitors’ fourth wicket to fall and they needed their skipper Kieron Pollard to come out in order to steady things a little bit.
However, it seems that the Indian camp had chalked out some plan to get the better of the West Indies captain. First up, Pollard went for an expansive drive but this time, Chahal had delivered a googly which turned into him. There was a huge gap between bat and pad and the ball thudded into the batter’s off-stump which triggered vociferous celebrations from the Indians.
Notably, the celebration was led by former captain Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma who gave a high-five to each other and the scenes on the field were heartening to see for the fans as well.

Virat Kohli assists Rohit Sharma in taking DRS too
Meanwhile, this wasn’t the only instance when Virat Kohli was involved in the decision making. The former India skipper was seen assisting Rohit Sharam in taking DRS as well when Shamarh Brooks edged one to the wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant off Chahal. The umpire didn’t give him out and even Pant wasn’t entirely sure if the ball had taken the edge of the bat.
This is when Kohli stepped in to clarify that the ball took the edge of the bat first and then the bat also hit the pads. It led to Rohit taking the review and the replays confirmed the edge as well.
