India A v Bangladesh A 1st one-dayer, Preview: Come 16th September and a buoyant Bangladesh will take on Rahul Dravid’s boys for the much talked about series, which will see the former side fielding 14 international players. Not very often we come across such tie’s where experienced campaigners are seen participating in this manner. For India, it will be a test of character, since the senior side faced a defeat at the hands of Bangladesh recently in an ODI series. The likes of Suresh Raina will surely play a vital role throughout the series.

The left-handed middle order batsman has expressed excitement on being part of India A team which is coached by former India captain Dravid. Ahead of their 1st limited overs tie against Bangladesh A Raina was quoted saying, “I’m very excited to play with him (Rahul Dravid). I worked really hard when he was the captain. He was very, very solid with the youngsters, especially me, Robin Uthappa, Irfan Pathan and lot of other youngsters who came into the team. During that time he worked really hard with Dinesh Karthik and myself too. It gives you lot of confidence and definitely I’ll work with him in the future.”

For Mominul Haque this series will be one important assignment as people back home expect the young tigers to clinch the series. Coach Heath Streak believes this series will provide a platform for the youngster’s to announce their arrival.

Bangladesh A:

For the visitors, Soumya Sarkar will look to continue his dream run with the bat while Nasir Hossain and Sabbir Rahman will play the perfect second fiddle role. The pace battery looks impressive, with Rubel Hossain who already carries grudge against the Indian’s leading the pack powered by Taskin Ahmed, Al-Amin Hossain and Shafiul Islam. This Bangladesh side will look to grab their chances with both hands and leave a good impression on the Indian soil.

India A:

The host under Dravid’s guidance will look to go out all guns blazing. Raina being the only experienced campaigner for the home team will have his task cut out. Manish Pandey and Mayank Agarwal will look to capitalize from the initial phase and set a platform for the slog overs. The likes of Sanju Samson and Kedar Jadhav can play the perfect partners in crime on crisis situations. Dhawal Kulkarni will lead the bowling unit with chinaman bowler Kuldeep Yadav and Rishi Dhawan providing ample support.

Pitch – M. Chinnaswamy Stadium:

The Chinnaswamy pitch in Bangalore is known as a batting paradise. It will generate good bounce and carry and spinners are expected to come in handy. With late shower around the city recently, the day should go fine with bright sun and clear blue sky.
