India v South Africa 2nd Test Day 5 Review: The fourth washout ends the Bengaluru Test: India has kept its 1-0 lead intact and South Africa must have breathed a sigh of relief as the 2nd Test has been called off due to rain. The match was finally called off after the last inspection that took place at 11.30 pm.

The 3rd Test at Nagpur starts on the 25th of this month and the Indian team will be looking to continue the good work. India’s fielding and bowling standards have been top class that have ensured dominance over the top ranked Test team in the world. The home side will hope to do the same in the next 2 Tests since complacency is something which it can ill afford against the Proteas.

The South Africans have plenty of work to do since they have thus far struggled, particularly with the bat. The visitors will also be praying for Dale Steyn’s return which will add some much needed muscle to depleted looking bowling lineup. One can expect a slow turner at Jamtha and the Proteas will have their work cut out trying to deal with Ashwin and co.

Brief scores:

South Africa: 214/10 (de Villiers 85, Ashwin 4/70, Jadeja 4/50)

India: 80/0 (Dhawan 45*, Vijay 28*)

Result:  Match Drawn
