India vs England: 5 Indian players who may not get a chance in the ODI series
These five players might be benched during the ODI series vs England.
2. Kuldeep Yadav
The 26-year-old left-arm off-spinner Kuldeep Yadav can be considered as one of the unluckiest cricketers of recent times. Despite ticking all the right boxes for quite some time, Kuldeep has failed to find a permanent spot for himself in the Indian squad across any of the three formats. The Chinaman bowler has been formidable for the Men in Blue in One Day Internationals.
He has featured in 61 ODIs scalping a whopping 105 wickets at an economy rate of 5.12 and an average of 26.4. Despite the stunning numbers, the chances of Kuldeep making it to the Playing XI of any of the three ODI games against England are rare. This is due to the fact that for the past few years, India has started giving more preference to the players who can contribute both with the bat and the ball.
This means that India is likely to go with one full-time spinner between Yuzvandra Chahal and Kuldeep along with an all-rounder. While Chahal is almost a certainty in the Playing XI for One Day Internationals, the second spin slot can be occupied by Krunal Pandya, who has been included in the squad as a replacement for India’s injured all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.
